The model farm is a part of the project run by the Hungarian Self-governing National Community in Pomurje in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food of the Republic of Slovenia and with Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Agricultural Markets and Rural Development.
We are located in the village Banuta, at the edge of Prekmurje plains, close to Dolgovaške Gorice and Lendavske Gorice vineyards at the Hungarian-Croatian border. The farm in Banuta is surrounded by meadows and focuses on animals, pasture range in particular. We have grey cattle, Krškopolje pigs, Mangalica pigs, and horses. The farm strives to produce healthy food. We grow asparagus, blueberries, we have a vegetable garden and we grow strawberries in a greenhouse.
The doors of the model farm are open to all visitors!

At the Prekmurje Model Farm, meadows provide a natural and relaxed habitat for various animals. Among them are Krškopolje pigs, Mangalica pigs, donkeys, and Podolian cattle. Each of those animals adds unique value to our farm and offers visitors an unforgettable experience
This is an interesting, continuous cycle that combines vegetable production and fish farming, it is a combination of hydroponics and aquaculture. The waste produced by the fish feeds the plants, while the plants purify the water for the fish.
