Friday the 17th of November 2023, the day of Traditional Slovenian Breakfast, was a special day for our Prekmurje Model Farm. The children of Bilingual Primary School Genterovci (DOŠ Genterovci), located less than 3 km away from the farm, visited us after breakfast. The morning passed by too quickly: a tour of the tractors and the machinery, petting and spoiling the animals with treats… The joy and smiles on children’s faces were priceless. We knew the small hands would tire quickly from petting donkeys, so, we prepared a special lunch outdoors. We built a fire, lighted it, and began roasting bread. The roasted bread or “pajani kruh” with hot tea was an unexpected experience. Impressed children made their way back to school. Thank you, DOŠ Genterovci.
