Saturday, 6 May 2023, was a workday at the Prekmurje model farm. We planted our first asparagus plants.

With 10,000 different species, the sample plantation of asparagus spreads over half a hectare of fields.

Planting was done with a special machine, manufactured specifically for planting of asparagus.

The working Saturday was a very interesting day for everyone involved. We learned about the appearance of asparagus plants, how they should be planted properly, and what should we pay attention to while planting. Planting lines had to be precisely determined and measured beforehand. We have planted nine different sorts of asparagus. We are expecting first crops next year.
