On Sunday, April 7, 2024, the Prekmurje Model Farm organized a professional excursion to the Intervino Messe Klagenfurt fair for members of wine growing societies from the entire area of the program. The Klagenfurt Wine Fair is considered one of the largest fairs for the Southern Austria area and the Alps-to-Adriatic region. The aim of the visit was to learn about new trends and practices in viticulture and the wine-industrial sector, to gain knowledge about the production of organic wines and to provide support, as well as information for a possible transition to organic production. The goal was also to establish new contacts and networking with representatives of the wine industry. Visitors took away from the fair new knowledge about trends and practices in viticulture, with a focus on organic wines. The experience of tasting a wide range of wines, including organic ones, has enabled them to better understand and appreciate the quality of organic wines. They were also inspired by the potential transition to organic wine production, as they were given concrete steps to achieve this goal. In addition, participants have established new acquaintances and business contacts with various stakeholders in the wine industry, which may bring new opportunities for cooperation and development in the future.
